Training for Community Transformation Realized

Dear Friends,

Devoted to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and providing post-secondary Bible and agricultural-development training in Les Cayes, Haiti, SEED Ministries was founded in 1992 by Frantz and Doris Clotaire. Franz is a graduate of Bethany.

Around 250 students, most of whom come from rural areas, are enrolled in their three- and five- year training programs, a distinctive feature of which is hands-on experience. Students who complete the 5-year program are placed under the leadership of a village-church pastor and challenged to make an impact on the economic development of that village. Frantz maintains contact with many graduates and churches to provide encouragement and counsel.

More than half of the funds needed to run SEED normally come from student tuition and production from the SEED Farm. However, because of the corona virus lockdown, instruction was halted, so there was little income to offset SEED’s operating expenses.

The good news is, classes have begun again, and a new and excited group of students started their coursework at the beginning of 2021.

Our aim is to raise funds to help with the maintenance and security of the campus and the purchase of equipment for the training programs.

Sincerely,

Alec D. Brooks
