Caring for the Orphans and Rescuing Those in Danger

July 2015

Earlier this year a hurricane damaged the sanctuary and worship center of Care Corner Orphanage in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Care Corner was begun in 1995 by Ricky Tan, a graduate of Bethany College of Missions, and his wife Lay Hwa to be a beacon for Christ by bringing hope to the hopeless, joy to the despairing, and love to the fatherless. They began by caring for 26 children and now they and their staff care for 62.

Care Corner is a home where orphaned and disadvantaged Thai children can find a loving home and learn about the love of Jesus. Many of the children come from broken homes and families devastated by drug addiction and AIDS. The orphanage also provides shelter for children in danger of being lured into sex trafficking and prostitution.

In all, the goal of Care Corner is to provide spiritual development for the children based on the Bible, basic education, primary health care, and clear moral guidance, so that they can be witnesses for the Lord wherever they are. In addition, creating jobs and developing micro enterprises provide vocational training for the children so they can support themselves wherever God calls them to serve.

With your help, we hope to raise $5000 to help repair the damage done by the hurricane.

Thank you and God bless you.
